Formed in 2015 by harpsichordist Lisa Kokwenda Schweiger and percussionist Jacob Vanneste,
Two Envelopes fuses adventurous combinations of performative elements or electronics, whilst retaining a classical core.
Lisa works in the fields of early and contemporary music and physical theatre. Jacob immerses himself in contemporary
and electronic music and has always been driven by a huge interest in performative musical theatre and soundart.
As Two Envelopes they play compositions that have been commissioned especially for their mix of expressive skills
as well repertoire by G. Aperghis, K.H. Essl, T. De Mey etc.
In 2015 the duo was selected as ‘International Young Artist’ by Musica, for whom they made their own creation ‘Alamento’.
Past highlights include the
release of their studio album "Inner Phrases" in 2021,
ensemble-in-residence at the
Gaudeamus Festival in 2022 and the
release of short movie ‘El Clave Mal Temperado’ since 2022 in many film festivals
around the world.
Two Envelopes played at Gaudeamus Festival Utrecht, De Doelen Rotterdam, Amuz Antwerpen, Wilde Westen Kortrijk, Orgelpark
Amsterdam, Les Ateliers Claus Brussels, Q-O2 Brussels; Mute festival Ghent, Klangforum Heidelberg, Klangbrücke Aachen among other international venues and events.
